Easter has always been a fun holiday to spend with loved ones. Fun egg hunt with family and friends and ending it with a delicious feast of heart-warming and belly-filling dishes. I’ll have colorful foil-wrapped Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates for the little ones and a slew of vegan entrees, side dishes, and desserts for the dinner celebration. I am thinking vegan spinach lasagne, creamy rice risotto with mushrooms and vegan BBQ brisket for the mains. Maple glazed carrots and vegan scalloped potatoes for the sides, and a luscious vegan chocolate depression cake for dessert. And you bet these super easy Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls are going to take their space on my dinner table!

The Easiest Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls Recipe

Holiday meal preparations can be hectic, right? So I always go with the easiest recipes I can get away with without sacrificing flavor and presentation. Using Rhodes Warm & Serve Artisan Dinner Rolls allow me to enjoy delicious bread that you can just pop in the oven and get as-good-as-from-scratch baked rolls that have a crunchy crust and soft, moist center! All you'll need to do to get made-from-scratch quality bread is thaw, rise, and bake! Then, whip up your vegan garlic herb butter mixture and brush them over the buns before baking.

Making delicious dinner rolls have never been so easy! In fact, this recipe will allow you to enjoy them without the constant kneading and time spent in the kitchen! They would be amazing with soups, stews, pasta, and salads. I also love having them for breakfast with my fave hot coffee or tea or using them to make sandwiches for snack time.

Ingredients You’ll Need

You will only need 5 ingredients to make this. The Rhodes Dinner rolls, vegan butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. You can add or omit herbs and species as you prefer.

  • Rhodes Dinner rolls - If you do not know where to buy these, check their online store locator to see the nearest store to grab them.
  • Vegan Butter - I used unsalted vegan butter for this recipe. If you only have salted vegan butter, just omit the salt from the ingredient list.
  • Italian seasoning - This is usually a mix of warm and earthy herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram. You can also just choose which among these herbs you like to add to your plant-based butter spread. You can try other herbs too like parsley, dill, and chives.
  • Garlic powder - You can also use finely diced fresh garlic.
  • Salt - To taste.

Possible Add-ons

  • If you want to add a bit of punch to your rolls, a pinch of red chili flakes will do the trick nicely.
  • Sprinkle a bit of grated vegan parmesan on them before serving to give them a 'cheesy' and savory kick.

Tips when Making Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls

  • The measurement for the vegan garlic herb butter is for 6 rolls only. If you are making a dozen simply double the amount on the recipe card below.
  • Using fresh garlic will give you a more pronounced flavor. So if you like your bread roll on the garlicky side, use finely chopped raw garlic.
  • If the tops of the bread are browning too much, you can add a foil tent on top of the dinner rolls so it does not end up burned.
  • If you cannot find Rhodes’ warm and serve products near you, you can use my 4-ingredient, quick, no-knead bread recipe instead.

Serving and Storage Notes

These Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls are best served straight off the oven when it is warm and 'buttery'! If you are making this ahead of time or are storing leftovers, you can place them in the fridge for up to three days. Just pop them back in the oven to warm them up before serving.

Equipment

  • baking tray
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 6 Rhode's Dinner rolls (individual)
  • 2 tablespoons Vegan butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Follow the instructions on the package for letting the dough rise.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Gather the seasonings and vegan butter.
  • Add the vegan butter to a small microwave safe bowl, heat in 20 second increments until melted. It is ok if there are still pieces of vegan butter that have not fully melted. It will melt as it sits.
  • Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt to the melted vegan butter. Mix with a basting or pastry brush and set aside.
  • Place the rolls in the oven and let them cook for 10 minutes. Take them out of the oven and quickly brush the tops with the garlic herb mixture. Put the rolls back in the oven and let them continue to bake for 5-10 minutes.
  • Enjoy warm!

I used your no-knead bread recipe because sadly I can’t get those frozen rolls where I am in NYC. But these turned out great. Perfect suggestion. Delightful flavor. And not hard at all.

I'm going to look for this product in Canada. We'll be at our daughter's for Easter and she is a vegan. I know she'd love fresh rolls with our Easter dinner and these frozen rolls are so easy to bake up fresh!
