Why You’ll Love This Recipe
As soon as peach and nectarine season arrives, I’m busy whipping up batches of this easy peach crisp or this banana nectarine smoothie. On cooler days, I turn to warm roasted peaches… but have you ever tried cinnamon brown sugar grilled peaches?
Grilling peaches intensifies their natural sugars, caramelizing them for a sweet treat. Pair it with warm cinnamon (or pumpkin spice), brown sugar, and chopped nuts (for crunch), and it'll become a summer go-to (child-approved!) for BBQs and summer gatherings.
Best of all, this 5-ingredient brown sugar grilled peaches recipe is SO quick and easy, can be adapted in several ways, and can be made using a grill, grill pan, or air fryer to enjoy even on non-grill-worthy weather days. Recipe Variations
- Grilled balsamic peaches: Grill with just oil, then drizzle with balsamic reduction.
- Crumbled vegan cookies: A sprinkle of graham crackers or ginger cookies, etc., adds more crunch.

How to Grill Peaches
Step 1: First, preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium or medium-high heat (350-375F) and cut each peach in half, removing the pit. Then, combine the oil and brown sugar in a small bowl .
Step 2: Generously brush the cut side of the peaches with the oil and brown sugar mixture.
Step 3: Carefully place the peaches on the grill/grill pan, cut side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until grill marks are achieved.
Step 4: Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the walnuts/pecans, cinnamon (or pumpkin spice), and salt, and sprinkle the mixture over the grilled peaches. Enjoy immediately, optionally served with a scoop of plant-based vanilla ice cream.
FAQs
Following the natural seam line in the peach, run a sharp knife all the way around. Then, gently twist the two halves to pull them apart. Use a spoon to remove the pit. Use freestone peaches for easier pit removal.
Yes, though I prefer to do so using a grill sheet so they don’t accidentally fall through the grill grates.
Preheat the air fryer to 350F/175C, then air fry them in the basket or on a grill grate insert for 5-7 minutes, skin-side down. Flip, brush more of the brown sugar topping over the top, and air fry for 2-3 minutes. Serve.

Pro Recipe Tips
- Use only ‘just’ ripe peaches: They should be ripe yet firm. That way, they won’t fall apart, and the grilling process caramelizes them to bring out their sweetness.
- Preheat the grill: This is important to avoid sticking and cooking the peaches in the necessary time will avoid them from burning or becoming mushy before ready.
- Grill undisturbed: This ensures they form nice grill lines. For the best pan-grilled peaches, use a cast-iron grill pan – this produces the most grill-like results.
